Prior
to the creation of Versentech, Paul was Vice President, business
development, of Motorola Canada’s business strategies, partnerships,
acquisitions, and wireless internet e-commerce initiative. Paul was also a member of Motorola
Canada’s leadership team and head of the venture capital arm for Canada.
Paul’s expertise is in targeting early stage technology
companies for investments, a strong ability in joint venture partnering
and in structuring and implementing the deal making process.
Paul joined Motorola from Société générale de financement du
Québec (SGF), a $2 billion industrial holding company, where he was vice
president, electronic components. Responsibilities included developing
and executing the business strategy for investments in the electronic
sector and to target partners and projects for joint ventures ranging
from US$10 million to US$3 billion. He also served as corporate director
for several high-tech joint ventures.
Paul is a graduate in engineering and management from McGill
University. He is a member of the Quebec order of engineers and Chairman,
as well as
corporate director, for several high-tech joint ventures.
